In response to the news that a judge has refused to certify Mark Harris as the winner of the North Carolina Ninth Congressional District race, RL Miller of Climate Hawks Vote states: “Harris stole the election from climate hawk Dan McCready. We’re glad to see the truth coming to light, and we won’t rest until McCready is seated.”
Climate Hawks Vote endorsed Dan McCready, a solar entrepreneur and Marine veteran, in fall 2018 and has stood by that endorsement as the results of NC-09 showing Mark Harris as the apparent winner have been steadily undermined by reports of election fraud. As news stories and affidavits have shown that Harris likely stole the election from McCready, Climate Hawks Vote members have responded. CHV raised over $4300 in small dollar donations for McCready in December, after the election. In addition, CHV members have sent over 7,700 letters to Rep. Zoe Lofgren, chair of the House Administration Committee, asking her to investigate the stolen election.
