Raja is president of an Illinois company that researches solar-energy technology. At Climate Hawks Vote, we’re on the lookout for candidates who can implement solutions. Raja knows that nations that lead the way in developing renewable energy will gain a competitive advantage in creating the good jobs of the future. He understands both the economics and the science behind climate change. And he understands the solution – 100% green energy.
Hillary Clinton has made the campaign pledge of having our country install half a billion solar panels by the end of her first term — if we are to succeed at that goal, we’ll need people like Raja in Congress.
Raja is running a strong campaign in Illinois’ 8th District in the Chicago suburbs. The seat is open, having been vacated by Tammy Duckworth as she runs for the U.S. Senate. He’s been endorsed by everyone from President Barack Obama to Jan Schakowsky, who represents the neighboring 9th District.

Update: Raja won with 59.2% of the vote.
