Ashley Ward ran as a climate hawk in North Carolina's 4th Congressional District - but lost her primary election in the summer of 2022
Ashley would havebrought to Congress her expertise at NOAA, where she worked on preparing rural communities in North Carolina from extreme heat. And at Duke University, where she helped public water agencies modernize their data.
She would have been the first person in Congress with expertise in climate and public health.
North Carolina’s Fourth District is a wild free-for-all because the longtime representative, David Price, is retiring. Although several top notch candidates are running, Climate Hawks Vote doesn’t endorse without first surveying in-district folk. Over 60 percent of the climate hawks in the district supported Ashley.
