We do not endorse mediocre Democrats, no matter how vehemently a Republican opponent may deny climate science. We only endorse when we are convinced that the candidate will commit to strong climate action.
In 2017, we endorsed Tom Perriello for Democratic candidate for governor of Virginia. After he lost in the primary to eventual winner Ralph Northam, Perriello went on to help organize Virginia voters for historic gains in the Virginia legislature in support of a broad slate of climate champions who, like Perriello, overwhelmingly rejected campaign contributions from Dominion Energy.
