Phoenix, Arizona is the hottest city in America – and climate change isn’t helping. Strong climate leadership in Phoenix would protect frontline communities and influence action throughout the region.
Yassamin Ansari is a young climate hawk with the background and know-how to fight for the residents of Phoenix and make climate action an urgent priority. The daughter of immigrants and an Arizona native, Yassamin came out of the youth climate movement and helped to deliver the Paris agreement.
For the residents of Phoenix, she’s committed to cleaning up air and water by cracking down on corporate polluters, transitioning the city bus fleet to 100 percent electric, expanding the city’s tree canopy by thousands of trees, strengthening recycling and composting programs, and investing in clean, renewable energy. She also supports affordable housing, healthcare access, and local job growth, among other key community needs.
