Brian Schatz gets the urgency of climate change, as something more than just another Democratic issue. Heās doing his best to transform Hawaiiās energy system to one running on 100% renewable energy. Along with Bernie Sanders and Sheldon Whitehouse, heās one of the Senateās fiercest climate hawks.
Brian Schatz is standing for reelection, and weāre standing with him.
Brian Schatz was appointed to fill a Senate vacancy in early 2014, and almost immediately faced a primary challenge from the right. We endorsed and hired field organizers, and he barely won that August 2014 race. Heās now up for his first full term. We want to send him back to the Senate on a strong wave of support.
Update:Ā Schatz received 70.1% of the vote and is returning to the Senate.
